about
“Fantasy” is the second single from Aviva La Viv's upcoming sophomore EP, “Vigilant Love, Vol. 2” (coming July 2023). Fierce and fun, “Fantasy” brings queer joy and resistance to the forefront of this groovy electronic folk and Flamenco inspired Pride anthem. An accompanying music video featuring Aviva’s Brooklyn queer community in rainbow psychedelic delight comes out on June 22nd. Encouraging their community to come together despite the hate and chaos aimed at the queer community, especially in recent months, the chorus drives Aviva’s message home, “To bring peace, to bring love, that’s the call to rise above. Understand they won’t all understand, but do the best you can. It’s not your job to fix it all, but all together less likely to fall. But if you do, just know that I’m here for you”.
lyrics
I don’t care if it’s a fantasy
Anyway what is reality
As long as I’m not hurting anybody
Believe what you’ll believe and let me be
Can’t hide your hate behind your piety
But that’s the difference between you and me
I am not choosing not to see
I see it all and choose my destiny
To bring peace, to bring love
That's the call to rise above
Understand they won’t all understand
But do the best you can
It's not your job to fix it all
But all together less likely to fall
If you do, just know that I’m here for you
Chaos and change are the cycles of life
From the planets above
To that man with a knife
Doesn't mean we shouldn't try
To make the world better while we’re alive
Should you swallow,
accept your fate
A fate that’s been rigged straight in your face
Drudge along, resigned to your lot
Or fight for something bigger on this little blue dot
It’s all we have
It's all we’ve got
Whether you believe it's your one life or not
People created the world we know
We can build a new one
You’ll see, we’ll grow
It won’t all be perfect
It won’t all me smooth
The despair still exists
Catch me in the right mood
But the yin and yang don't exist without each other
So push the daybreak
My sister my brother
To bring peace, to bring love
That's the call to rise above
Understand they won’t all understand
But do the best you can
It's not your job to fix it all
But all together less likely to fall
If you do, just know that I’m here for you
